Layout of building site

The layout of the construction site must be such as to facilitate the execution of all the required tasks at the maximum rate and safety of the personnel.

In order to better arrange the construction site, many factors should be taken into account, such as the type of work, (for example, the building construction project is more concentrated than road construction), the size of the project, the location of the project (in the cities there is a tight space and therefore a small freedom in the arrangement of the construction site).

The nature of the soil also plays an important role. In an abnormal area it is probably preferable to build the warehouses and garages in a smoother area and to make the necessary access roads. The main factor is also the flow of work. The free access, transportation, movement and work of people, machinery, and rational storage of materials should be ensured so that the different works of the construction can be carried out simultaneously without interfering with each other.

In any case, it is advisable to take into account the following general principles:

  1. Offices must be close to the entrance for the safety of visitors and not to hinder the work of the staff
  2. Material warehouses must be close to their treatment facilities in order to avoid unnecessary transport
  3. When the project is concentrated, there must be fencing
  4. The flow of each task should not affect other tasks.
